Joyce Meyer Ministries Builds HD Mac-based Workflow with SNS and EMC

St. Louis, Missouri, USA – November 6, 2008 – Studio Network Solutions (SNS), a premier provider of post production storage systems and products, announced today that Joyce Meyer Ministries, St. Louis, Missouri, will deploy SNS storage solutions as an integral part of its new Apple-based television post production workflow.

Joyce Meyer Ministries’ daily television program, “Enjoying Everyday Life”, airs around the world in 34 languages on numerous networks including the Discovery Channel, ABC Family, WGN, and the Trinity Broadcasting Network. The ministry also creates a large amount of media content for live arena events, DVDs, and its web site. Earlier this year the ministry decided to migrate from its AVID Windows based editing solution and storage system to a workflow based around Apple’s Final Cut Studio. Apple solutions will also be used for DVD authoring, sound design, sound editing and mixing, and motion graphics.

SNS designed the storage solution in conjunction with EMC; the new workflow comprises a combination of Apple software, EMC CLARiiON hardware and SNS services and software/hardware components. Initially Joyce Meyer Ministries’ technical team considered Apple’s Promise technology but the SNS-EMC solution was better able to fulfill the company’s requirements for a fully scalable system with a high-availability network.

The system includes 26 SNS Dual-port Ellipse Enterprise Fibre Channel HBAs and two EMC CLARiiON CX4-240 configured with over 200 Fibre Channel drives. SNS was able to repurpose some existing CLARiiON storage to add value back to the investment. In addition there are 26 Xsan2 licences.
