Bluefish544 and SNS team up to create more efficient workflows for Uncompressed, DNxHD, 4K, and 4K HDR media

Amsterdam, Netherlands, IBC Booth 7.h50 (September 13, 2016) — Studio Network Solutions (SNS) and Bluefish544 will be showcasing a live capture workflow for Avid Media Composer® and Adobe® Premiere Pro® CC that utilizes Bluefish544’s Epoch capture cards and ingeSTore software alongside SNS’ EVO Shared Storage. With this joint solution, users can capture multiple SDI streams directly to EVO network shares and make media immediately available to client computers in the workgroup.

The benefits of this solution are:

  • Reduced time spent on file transfers and manual encoding
  • Automated encoding to DNxHD for Avid Workflows
  • Native Avid Project & Bin Sharing for collaborative workflows
  • Automated recording of Uncompressed 4:2:2 QuickTime and AVI
  • Project Locking for collaborative Adobe CC workflows
  • Expansive networking capabilities and high performance with EVO Shared Storage

Using ingeSTore and EVO in an Avid environment allows users to capture DNxHD media directly from SDI or film scanners to EVO storage, so media no longer has to go through the process of manual encoding before editing. Editors also get native Avid Project, Bin, and media sharing, expansive GbE, and 10GbE connectivity options, and high performance with DNxHD media.

“Capturing directly to shared storage has many benefits. It eliminates time-consuming encoding and file transfers, reduces duplicate files, and increases the security of your media with RAID protection. The workflows you can accomplish with ingeSTore and EVO are state of the art,” said Ryan Stoutenborough, President, Studio Network Solutions.

Using ingeSTore and EVO in Adobe® CC environments enables Premiere Pro CC, Adobe SpeedGrade® CC, and Adobe After Effects® CC users to share access to the ingested files. With EVO’s ShareBrowser client software, Adobe CC users can also share their projects using a custom project locking feature that allows multiple editors to open the same project file in a secure environment without risk of overwriting, providing enhanced collaboration and organization.

“Studio Network Solutions’ products have massive value for creative teams,” said Tom Lithgow, Product Manager, Bluefish544. “The workflow options provided by EVO, for Adobe and Avid editors alike, are collaborative, simple, and extremely reliable. The Avid Project and Bin sharing functionality gives Avid editors the collaborative environment they are familiar with from the ISIS and NEXIS storage line, and Project Locking for Adobe® Premiere Pro CC creates a new and intuitive means to collaborate on Adobe Premiere Pro CC projects in multi-editor environments.”

During IBC Bluefish544 will be demonstrating a live capture workflow utilizing SDI recording directly to an EVO 16 Bay shared storage server. Media will then be made available immediately for post-production via the “edit-while-record” feature of ingeSTore software, which allows teams of editors to access footage as it’s being recorded.
