SANmp® version 2.5 supports Leopard, Tiger and Panther. With SANmp, computers can concurrently share massive amounts of data over high-speed Fibre and iSCSI Storage Networks.
The globalSAN iSCSI initiator for OS X Leopard is also available and can be downloaded at the SNS website. A new Leopard-compatible version of Postmap™ (v.1.8) is now available for trial/download. This latest version of Postmap includes some incredible new features, such as on-the-fly indexing, complete integration with SANmp, eSAS/eSATA compatibility and the ability to edit metadata for any number of files at once!

The BRIT (British Record Industry Trust) School focuses on the educational needs of teens who have a passion for creative arts, including media production. When the school added a multi-user Final Cut Pro editing suite, a reliable storage solution was required to meet increased demand for content creation, sharing and storage. There was also a need to allow all students to access, edit and share media files from any of the seven workstations in the editing suite.
With this in mind, SNS created a customized shared storage solution featuring two globalSAN X-16s. It was perfect for handling multiple, simultaneous streams of HDV over Gigabit Ethernet using iSCSI. Overall, globalSAN centralized The BRIT School's storage and provided archival security.

TIPS FROM THE SNS LAB:
It is good practice to keep at least 10-15% free space on all drives and volumes. Doing so can help prevent mounting problems and performance related issues. This holds true for SAN volumes as well as locally attached drives such as USB, FireWire and system drives.
