Using the New iMac Pro with 10Gigabit Ethernet Shared Storage

Apple has given us 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) in the new iMac Pro!

The new iMac Pro is a beautifully designed workstation that packs some serious power. It handles monstrous codecs like 8K ProRes 4444 and 5K RED RAW as if they are mere proxies. And, if you’re willing to shell out the cash for the fully loaded version (which will set you back about $13,000) it can handle just about anything you want to throw at it.

But overall, our favorite thing about the new iMac Pro is the fact that you can connect to shared storage over 10Gb Ethernet with much less hassle. You won’t have to shop for another adapter, and that means one less Thunderbolt chassis on your desk, and one less wire hanging out of a Thunderbolt port.

Top 4 New Features in ShareBrowser

ShareBrowser is our all-in-one application that helps your team organize and search for media and projects across EVO and other storage devices.

ShareBrowser is similar to Finder and Explorer, but it’s much more than a file manager: It’s designed specifically to help media teams work and collaborate more efficiently. Assets can be catalogued, tagged, and commented, enabling everyone in the workflow to more easily find, preview, and share media and projects. ShareBrowser is like Spotlight, but designed for media teams who use networked storage.

Small-Medium Companies: Potentially Huge Tax Benefits on 2017 Equipment Purchases

Did you know your company may be able to expense up to a $500,000 deduction on equipment if it’s bought and put into service before midnight on December 31, 2017?

This may effectively reduce the purchase price of your capital expenses, including computers, digital storage, software, and other office equipment!

Section 179 of the US tax code is aimed at businesses that purchase up to $2M worth of equipment in 2017, and it could add tens of thousands of dollars or more to your bottom line.
