Biggest Trend: AI In Media Production

Artificial Intelligence continues to gain traction like wildfire, igniting interest across the industry. Featured in over 150 sessions and nearly 200 exhibitor booths, it’s clear that AI and machine learning will shape the future of media production.

A few standout innovations include generative AI, speech-to-speech (in addition to speech-to-text and text-to-speech), and AI-powered tools for more personalized content and user experiences.

One of the most exciting aspects of AI showcased at NAB was its integration with existing tools and technologies. Best In Show: MOD Powered By EVO

Three words to describe MOD are: lightweight, portable, and award-winning.

MOD powered by EVO is the compact video editing server and cloud edge device purpose-built for creative professionals on the go.

This 7-lb server with built-in media asset management, transcoding, automations, cloud backups, remote access, and more, earned multiple industry awards at this year’s NAB Show, including:

  • Cloud Computing & Storage Product of the Year Award
  • Remote Production Product of the Year Award
  • Remote Production PRODU Technology Award

These awards mark SNS’s third consecutive win in Cloud Computing and Storage and second win in Remote Production at the NAB Show Product of the Year Awards. This is SNS’s first PRODU Technology Award. SNS also won an IABM Broadcast and Media Award at IBC 2023 for its fully cloud-hosted solution, EVO Cloud.

Breaking News: EVO Suite Updates

SNS previewed new in-flight and at-rest data encryption options, NDI plug-in updates, and several new features coming to the EVO Suite of software tools included with EVO.

The biggest EVO Suite update is coming to ShareBrowser, EVO’s powerful and easy-to-use media asset manager (MAM). Users can create specific timecode markers and subclips in ShareBrowser, which can transfer directly into Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve to streamline the editing process.

The EVO Suite is also gaining new cloud storage integrations for Microsoft OneDrive and Box.com, adding to a long list of cloud backup and replication targets (Dropbox, Amazon S3, Azure, Wasabi, Backblaze, Google Cloud Platform, etc.). Transcoding capabilities are improving as well, offering faster access to proxy files automatically generated by EVO.
