2025 in Review: A Milestone Year for Creative Collaboration

As we look back on 2025, it’s clear that this has been a transformative year for SNS and the creative communities we serve. While some might have seen the year as one of uncertainty, we approached it as a season of opportunity: an opportunity to learn, to grow, and to build new tools that empower teams to work better together, no matter where they are.

Here is a look back at the highlights of our 2025 journey.

Starting Strong: Powering Global Productions

We hit the ground running in Q1, focusing on what we do best: helping creative teams store, share, and organize massive amounts of media.

Blinx is a prime example of this in practice. Their technology manager, Basel Al Rouh, said EVO “simplifies day-to-day operations and keeps our team focused on production,” proving that the best technology is the kind that gets out of the way so creativity can take the lead.

Spring: Setting The Pace At NAB Show

As we moved into springtime and NAB Show took center stage, we leaned into the future of the industry with the AI Playground. Widely regarded as a standout innovation of the show, the AI Playground gave editors a hands-on experience to explore AI-assisted metadata and search workflows, demonstrating both the potential of AI and the importance of human input.

We also unveiled Transcode Accelerator v.2 and its expanded capabilities with Adobe Media Encoder, as well as new workflow integrations with Ross Video, Storj, and Ortana

The industry took notice of the innovations we’ve been building across live and post production workflows. We were honored to receive the prestigious PRODU Technology Award for our collaboration with Vizrt on NRS Powered by SNS, as well as two NAB Show Product of the Year Awards for EVO and Slingshot. These awards recognize not only our innovation in the world of shared storage, but also our commitment to supporting end-to-end media workflows.

Summer: Scaling Up And Strengthening Security

As the weather warmed up, so did our commitment to performance. In July and August, we focused on the fundamental needs of the modern editor: capacity and security.

  • Massive Capacity: We vetted and qualified 24TB and 30TB drives to expand the maximum capacity of EVO, ensuring that even the most data-hungry 8K and VFX workflows have room to grow.
  • Security First: We released a deep dive into data security and encryption, providing our users with the peace of mind that their intellectual property is protected against evolving threats.

These themes came to life in our user story with Moving Forward Studios, where EVO powers a rigorous 4K color and VFX pipeline. Owner and director Leo Lovera said, “EVO was the only system that could handle the real-time 4K performance we needed.” And when a different system in their workflow failed, they were able to restore the media they needed thanks to the reliability and resilience of EVO.

We were also given the opportunity to peek behind the scenes at The Philadelphia Orchestra to see how they harmonize complex video and audio workflows. To video editor Travis Wurges, EVO stands out by fading into the background: “It’s essentially invisible. It just works.”

Autumn: Innovation Unleashed At IBC

You could say we were just about everywhere this Fall: IBC in Amsterdam, NAB Show New York, Broadcast India, Inter BEE in Japan, CAPER in Argentina, SATIS in France… We connected with creatives on almost every continent.

This season saw the launch of some of our most requested features and tools:

  • We quietly introduced Outpost (currently in private beta), our new review and approval solution we’re building for creative teams to streamline feedback directly within their workflow. The positive feedback has been overwhelming so far.
  • We announced native Archive and Restore capabilities directly from ShareBrowser MAM.
  • To help our users get the most out of their systems, we opened registration for the SNS Training Academy, offering professional certification and deep-dive tutorials.

The team at Overskies shared how they use EVO to power their media lifecycle. “Having our online and archival storage connected in a way that’s actually usable has made a big difference. It’s allowed us to clean up our active storage without losing track of anything,” said Chris Connolly, Director of Post-Production and Tech at Overskies.

Winter: Celebrating Success And Looking Forward

We are closing the year by celebrating the incredible work of our users. In December, we highlighted Brave Channels, a case study in modern flexibility showing how their team uses EVO to edit virtually anywhere. Their success mirrors a larger trend we’ve seen all year: the shift toward truly fluid, hybrid workflows backed by the strength and stability of on-premise storage.

To say thank you to the community that makes this all possible, we launched our Year-End Savings Event, to help teams gear up for a productive 2026.

Thank You For An Incredible 2025

From the collaborative energy of the AI Playground to the global workflows powered by EVO every day, 2025 reminded us that our favorite stories are the ones we create together. Thank you for letting us be part of your creative journey.

We already have big plans in the works for 2026, and we can’t wait to show you what’s in store. Until then, happy editing!
