“We had multiple workstations working on high-res files, and we were hitting the limits of our infrastructure,” said Lovera. “EVO was the only system that could handle the real-time 4K performance we needed. Without it, we wouldn’t have been able to deliver the show.”

A Smarter, Scalable Workflow
As the studio’s workload and storage needs continued to grow, EVO scaled with them. They mounted their older Synology storage as an external share to the EVO system, then used ShareBrowser and Slingshot to index and generate preview proxies of every file—regardless of where it lived—essentially making EVO the “main brain” of their entire storage infrastructure.
“We ended up with a fully searchable library of all our media—EVO and non-EVO,” said Lovera. “It made our entire workflow more connected and way easier to manage.”
The added security features didn’t go unnoticed, either. “Compared to a Windows machine, EVO is more robust when it comes to security and resilience,” Lovera noted. “When one of our other systems failed, we were able to restore the media we needed and keep working, thanks to EVO.”
