Adobe MAX 2025 opened on October 28th with a keynote showcasing Adobe’s latest AI-powered innovations for creative professionals worldwide. The focus was on combining hands-on control with generative AI tools and conversational AI agents, helping designers, video editors, and marketing teams work faster and smarter.

Key Highlights For Creative Professionals

A key takeaway from Adobe MAX is that AI is becoming an integral part of workflows across video, audio, and design, streamlining processes while opening new possibilities for experimentation and expression.

From automatically renaming Photoshop layers based on content, to instantly turning 2D vectors into rotating 3D vectors with Turntable in Illustrator, to bleeping out curse words with new AI-assisted video editing tools in Premiere, Adobe showcased a plethora of AI features across its entire family of creative editing tools.

Over 10,000 creative professionals attended Adobe MAX 2025 in Los Angeles, California.

Here are some highlights from the three-hour opening keynote, which you can watch below.

  • Premiere Pro announcements include faster vector mask tracking, various “quality of life” improvements across the object mask, rectangle, ellipse, and pen tools, as well as the much anticipated launch of Premiere for mobile
  • Firefly Boards and multi-track video editing blend traditional editing with AI-assisted capabilities for video creators
  • New AI-powered features in Photoshop such as the Super Zoom neural filter which increases image resolution while adding detail and clarity
  • Audio improvements like Enhance Speech are now available in more Adobe apps: Firefly, Podcast, and both the mobile and desktop versions of Premiere
  • New partnerships with AI partners like Google, OpenAI, and Flux allow creatives to use any AI model in their Creative Cloud workflow
  • Photoshop and Adobe Express are integrated inside ChatGPT, allowing natural-language prompts to guide creative tasks

AI At Adobe MAX 2025

Adobe revealed that two-thirds of users reported using Photoshop’s Generative Fill feature not just occasionally, but every day during the beta period. This rapid and widespread adoption demonstrates a desire for AI integration in daily creative workflows.

Doubling down on AI, Adobe Firefly took center stage as a one-stop hub for creative production. Firefly is designed to be commercially safe while giving users the flexibility to work with any AI model within Adobe apps. Adobe also announced integrated new partner models in its Creative Cloud apps, Firefly Custom Models, and more groundbreaking AI tools infused across the Adobe creative experience.

Between sessions, attendees visited the Creative Park for networking and inspiration at Adobe MAX.

Cautious Optimism For Content Creators

While audiences responded enthusiastically to the new features—with plenty of “oohs” and “ahhs” in the live hall and virtual applause from online attendees—discussions on Adobe’s Discord server revealed a mix of excitement and hesitation. Behind the comfort and veil of anonymity, some creators voiced concern that AI could eventually take the creative spark out of creativity.

One Discord user shared, “I’m trying to get into 2D animation, but… by the time I master these programs, will AI have already perfected the art?” These concerns echo across many creative communities from animation to video editing to photography and beyond.

Adobe’s keynote addressed this sentiment head on, emphasizing that AI is built to assist creators, not replace them. They confidently explained that Adobe’s AI features give artists the power and precision to push the boundaries of their craft while maintaining creative control.
