What is Slingshot?
Slingshot is the transcoder and automations engine built into EVO. It is the tool responsible for automating proxy generation, indexing, backup automations, file transfers, and other processes in your workflow—ultimately saving you time and helping you stay focused on more creative tasks.
What does Slingshot automate?
Slingshot is most often used to automate transcoding (proxy generation), backing up files to nearline or cloud storage, and automated file transfers. Learn more about what Slingshot can automate.
Can I automate backups to the cloud?
Yes! Slingshot integrates with various cloud storage platforms to enable automatic transfer, sync, and replication jobs from EVO to the cloud, like Amazon AWS, SNS Trio, Dropbox, Microsoft Azure, OneDrive, and more. These automations are easy to set up, execute, and monitor, even without extensive IT training.
What does Slingshot cost?
Slingshot is included free with EVO. There are no additional costs to use Slingshot within the EVO interface, and it is also free to use the Slingshot API for custom workflow integrations.
How do I access Slingshot?
The Slingshot user experience is built into EVO’s web interface. Simply log into EVO from your web browser to set up new automations, monitor job progress, and explore more possibilities for automating your workflow.

What is Nomad?
Nomad is the remote editing arm of the EVO Suite. It is a convenient way to retrieve proxy files for use in creative workflows, often used for remote editing and offline editing projects.
Does Nomad work for editors working from home?
Yes! Nomad was built to help editors keep projects moving forward when working from home. It has grown into a versatile tool to assist creative teams using a variety of remote, proxy, hybrid, and offline editorial workflows around the world.
What does Nomad do?
When you want to take select files or an entire project offline, Nomad finds the associated files (source or proxy) and brings them to your selected destination. Nomad also assists with identifying and syncing new media back to EVO when you’re ready to render in full resolution.
What does Nomad cost?
Part of the award-winning EVO Suite, Nomad is free and included with EVO shared storage. Nomad Delta—the solution for relinking offline projects and syncing changes back to EVO—is also free and included as part of the EVO Suite.
