Xtarget – Transform your Mac into a powerful, incredibly fast SAN storage server.

mac-pro-iscsi-server

Xtarget enables you to inexpensively transform your Mac into an iSCSI SAN storage server. Just connect your Thunderbolt, USB, and FireWire DAS (Direct Attach Storage) devices to a Mac with Xtarget installed, then present the storage over Ethernet as iSCSI devices, which can then be shared using Xsan or SANmp.

globalSAN Xtarget

The benefit of Xtarget is that it enables you to quickly create a SAN using components you already own, thus saving time and money yet still getting the performance and workflow benefits of a typical SAN.

Office. Field. Home. Backpack!

Xtarget can present just about any local storage over iSCSI, but in fact, Xtarget is proving to have use cases above and beyond what would be considered for a traditional SAN. With Xtarget, a Mac Mini, and a few pounds of hardware, you can have a multi-user SAN that travels with you to the field, hotel, and other on-location work.

You can even present your Xtarget disks to the cloud for remote users.

With Xtarget and iSANmp, we turned our Mac Mini and Promise Thunderbolt array into a production SAN for our FCP X suites. The improvement to our workflow has been massively enhanced. We’re very pleased with the balance of price, quality, and most of all: the exceptional level of service we’ve experienced. Many thanks to the SNS team for going the extra mile!

How Karukera Studio Built a Media Production Hub with SNS EVO

For decades, the Caribbean was cast as a backdrop for film production—rich in natural beauty, yet lacking the infrastructure high-end production demands. Production crews flew in equipment, shipped out drives, and left little behind in the way of lasting capability or local industry growth.

Karukera Studio is rewriting that story.
