SNS Announces EVO Certification with M I S T at NAB 2010

St. Louis, Missouri, April 10, 2010 – Studio Network Solutions (SNS), a premier provider of post-production storage products for video and audio workgroups, today announced that the EVO 2.1 shared storage system has been certified for use with Marquise Technologies’ player M I S T.

Evo’s integration of SAN and NAS enables users to edit, share and review projects, media and other large files using the most appropriate connection type for each task. The RAID-protected shared storage system allows direct-attach and switch-based connection using Fibre Channel, Ethernet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet.

M I S T (Media Ingest Stream Transcode) is a powerful playback and conforming solution, able to work both in the Video and the DI world, from SD to 4K resolutions. Decoding and processing data files, (RED, ARRIRAW, DPX, TIFF, etc) M I S T also has strong conforming features (from EDL or Final Cut XML) and supports AAF, MXF, DNxHD or Apple ProRes standards. With M I S T primary grading and editing capabilities, this is the ideal assistant station to prepare material before final process on a hero system.

“We’re very excited about the M I S T certification,” comments Ryan Stoutenborough, Director of Services at Studio Network Solutions. “Combining EVO and M I S T in the same production environment speeds up the entire production process.”

European distributor Joe Levy recently organized a demonstration of an Evo-based workflow using M I S T in Zurich, Switzerland. The workflow was organized around Evo and involved several Final Cut Pro stations and one M I S T station for conforming and pre-grading uncompressed HD and Apple ProRes 444 material. All stations shared the same media, streamed in real-time for all the systems by Evo. A similar demo of the two products will be available in the Marquise Technologies booth at NAB 2010.
