New Features in EVO Shared Storage Help Teams Get the Most Out of DaVinci Resolve 15

SNS EVO and ShareBrowser get new features to help teams take full advantage of DaVinci Resolve Studio 15’s collaboration and media management features.

Studio Network Solutions (SNS), a leading manufacturer of shared storage hardware and software designed to help video teams store, share, and organize media, today announced new integrations for DaVinci Resolve Studio 15 and direct capture support for Blackmagic Design Decklink cards with their EVO shared storage systems and ShareBrowser v5 media asset management software.

The new integrations will help Resolve users:

  • Use EVO as their team’s DaVinci Resolve project server and shared storage all in one system
  • Simplify project sharing by hosting their DaVinci Resolve database on EVO
  • Quickly find and export media and metadata to a Resolve Studio 15 project
  • Harness custom metadata from ShareBrowser directly inside of Resolve Studio 15

“Blackmagic has developed some of the most elegant collaborative workflows we’ve seen in a long time,” says Loring Weinkauf, Studio Network Solutions Workflow and Product Integration Manager. “We’ve always focused on helping teams collaborate more effectively, so naturally, we wanted to make sure our customers could take full advantage of Resolve’s latest features.”

By hosting a DaVinci Resolve PostgreSQL database on an EVO shared storage server, editors can seamlessly access their projects and media from any connected workstation in the facility without having to copy or export projects for each user. Having a shared database is essential for Resolve’s collaboration features, which enable editors, colorists, VFX artists, animators and audio engineers to work together simultaneously inside the same project.

ShareBrowser, EVO’s integrated media asset management software, also helps Resolve users get the most out of the file management and organizational tools inside Resolve 15. Editors, assistants, and other collaborators can log clips using custom tags and comments in the ShareBrowser client or web app, then quickly export media and metadata directly into a project.

ShareBrowser metadata becomes keywords and tags available inside Resolve Studio 15.

“Keeping your metadata locked away inside your media asset management system has never been good enough for us.” says Matt Ratkowski, ShareBrowser Product Manager. “We want to make sure it’s deeply embedded in your creative process, and always available to you inside the apps you already use—following your media from creation to archive and back again.”

ShareBrowser v5 is currently available worldwide and is included for unlimited users with every EVO shared storage system. Visitors to IBC 2018 can demo EVO and ShareBrowser at stand #7.A44 in the RAI Exhibition Centre in Amsterdam on September 14-18th.
