EVO v5.6 Preview of What’s Coming

As we wrap up our last day here at NAB 2014, we’re hoping you had a chance to visit us! If you missed NAB, here’s some information about our upcoming v.5.6 release of EVO…

EVO v5.6 introduces new hardware and software features, including cloud integration and enhanced asset management functionality.

The EVO v5.6 release brings new asset management features like proxy previews, tagging, and Dropbox, Hightail, and FileCatalyst integration, as well as finer permissions for NAS users. The 16 bay EVO now has the capability to scale to 80 disks per node, and new 16 bay systems can be ordered with up to 24 CPU cores and 512GB RAM for the largest environments.

EVO v5.6 includes ShareBrowser Desktop Client—a new rich client interface similar to Finder/Explorer, but we built it specifically to help media teams work and collaborate more efficiently.

ShareBrowser-home

ShareBrowser client is a unified file/project/asset management interface for OS X and Windows. It ties storage and project/media management into a single comprehensive window, and enables teams to search across all EVO storage as well as local, offline, and other network disks. File metadata can be instantly indexed to the shared database, and users can more easily find, preview, and share media assets and projects. ShareBrowser is included with every new EVO Shared Storage Server.

When used together, EVO and ShareBrowser unlock features like project/bin/media sharing functionality for leading video applications like Adobe, Apple, Avid, Autodesk, Assimilate and Blackmagic Design and others.
