Integrating EVO with NewTek TriCaster and 3Play

We’re pleased to announce that we’ve entered into the NewTek Developer Network!

Our customers have huge, creative ideas. Our customers work fast, under stomach-churning deadlines, and they only accept uncompromising tools that never get in the way of their flow. Our customers love their EVO storage systems, and they love their TriCasters…

So naturally, when we first received our TriCaster we couldn’t wait to set it up and take it for a spin with EVO. (Full disclaimer: We couldn’t resist turning out the lights in our interop lab to bask in the warm glow of the 860’s beautifully illuminated control surface…)

After having some hands-on time with this system we now have a full appreciation for its place in the hearts of our customers. And now that we’re part of the NewTek Developer Network, we can say that TriCaster paired with EVO makes one hugely functional system.

We integrated EVO with TriCaster so that our mutual customers can enhance their capabilities by capturing directly to EVO’s RAID protected shared storage. This means that editors, producers, and others in the workgroup all have instant, shared access to the same library of content.

The EVO/TriCaster setup is particularly effective for making the transition from live to post. By capturing the original assets—including isolated camera outputs—in a live production directly to shared storage, customers can seamlessly make the transition between production and post-production.

5 Simple Reasons…

The result of going directly to EVO shared storage is that content can be created and delivered more efficiently and quickly, because all necessary material is conveniently available to everyone throughout the entire process.

  1. EVO offers the best performance—up to 8 camera ISOs.
  2. Bypass TriCaster internal storage and directly record to EVO RAID protected workspaces via NAS and or SAN protocols
  3. Editors can use the simple, built-in native asset management tools to index, search, and tag captured assets.
  4. Cloud access to assets via Dropbox, Hightail, and SFTP
  5. Edit TriCaster/3Play content in post production using Avid, Adobe, and Apple workstations

Using EVO and TriCaster in a live production, users can capture up to 8 camera ISOs directly to EVO, while playing back GFX and DDR content such as stills, clips, and audio from EVO without limiting other network sources such as iVGA, Airplay, LiveText, or other IP based solutions.

NewTek is transforming the way people create network-style television content and share it with the world. The NewTek TriCaster multi-camera live production platform enables anyone to create network quality video productions and stream them live or deliver them on-demand. NewTek 3Play is a complete, multi-camera instant replay server that brings powerful real-time replay and slow motion capabilities—at a fraction of the cost—to organizations in any market, enabling customers to produce gripping live experiences that attract larger audiences.

When using any EVO shared storage server with TriCaster and 3Play, a whole new world of end-to-end workflow possibilities come alive. We (SNS and NewTek) empower organizations from small schools to major broadcast networks, and we arm our customers with the tools needed to efficiently deliver exceptionally professional content and increase the size of their audiences.
